These are valuable skills that also support school readiness, as being able to dress themselves helps children feel confident and prepared as they make the transition into Foundation at primary school.
The learning does not stop when the play session ends. Families can continue practising these skills at home by encouraging little ones to take an active role in getting dressed each morning. Talking through each step together, celebrating successes and using positive affirmations can help turn daily routines into valuable learning opportunities while preparing children for the increased independence they will need at school.
