Build It Break It – Let’s Play, Build, and Discover.

At 360 Play, we know that children learn best when they can get hands-on. That is why our Build It Break It area is the perfect place to explore, experiment, and create, just like real builders, architects, and engineers.

Here, children can stack, balance, count, and create using exciting building materials and tools. As they build and rebuild, they are not just playing, they are developing a wide range of early skills linked to the EYFS framework.

build it, Break it

Children begin to understand the world around them as they explore balance, weight, gravity, and patterns. They notice shapes and colours, count blocks, and spot repeating designs, all wonderful ways to explore early math’s and science through play. And when towers tumble, it is all part of the fun.  Each rebuild helps children build confidence, resilience, and determination to keep trying.

By planning, chatting, and working together, children also strengthen their communication and language skills. You will hear them sharing ideas, solving problems, and cooperating as they decide what to build next.

Young futures

In the Build It Break It area you will find our “Young Futures” posters, highlighting the roles of builders, architects, engineers, and designers, and the paths to these careers. A perfect way for sparking curiosity about the world of work.

Talk together about hammers, screwdrivers, spanners, and saws, what they do, how they might be used, and the kinds of jobs they help with. Talk about the sounds they might make or the ways they move, like tapping, twisting, or turning. This kind of talk helps children build vocabulary, confidence, and understanding of how things fit and work together, while also introducing ideas about teamwork, problem solving and safety

You can support your child’s learning simply by talking as they play. Ask what they are building, how many blocks they have used, or which tool would work best for the job. Think together how to make a structure stronger or what they might change next time. These small moments of conversation help children think, count, compare and imagine, all through play
